Bharat is one of the protagonists of the Cannon Master manga series. He is the master of Ur and trains him.
Appearance
Bharat has a slicked back dark hair, with a long, thick strand falling down one side of his face and curled ends near the back of his head. He wears several accessories, including earrings, a cross necklace, and bracelets.
Personality
Bharat is usually kind, protective, and humble but he is also insecure about his ability to teach Ur. He acts confident in front of others, but privately admits to himself that he does not understand Ur’s extraordinary powers and Bharat often invents training exercises because he does not know what else to do. Despite his insecurity, Bharat is a capable Slaylith.
Abilities

Wind Magic - Bharat is a member of a clan capable of controlling air through magic. He channels this power through a magical flute and uses it to create offensive attacks, defensive barriers, and air currents that redirect enemy fire.
Song of Wind: Twister - This allows Bharat to use his flute to create a fast, concentrated spiral of wind. The attack travels toward its target like a drilling tornado and can be accurately aimed at a Regilith's core. However, it is unable to break through a powerful magical barrier by itself.

Magic Cloth: Robe of Wind Defense - This allows Bharat to surround himself with a magical cloth reinforced by wind. The cloth wraps around his body and protects him from powerful attacks, allowing him to shield both himself and nearby people. It can also support his movement while he is in the air, though it cannot completely prevent him from being injured.
Song of Wind: Tempest - This allows Bharat to release and control a large, rotating current of wind. He can use it to change the direction of incoming cannon fire and prevent attacks from striking their intended targets. Bharat can also gather multiple projectiles inside the wind, combine their power, and redirect them back toward an enemy.
Magic Flute - Bharat uses a magical flute passed down through his family to control and shape his wind magic. It serves as the main focus for techniques such as Twister and Tempest. Without the flute, Bharat is unable to properly perform most of his named wind techniques.
Relationships
Ur
Ur is Bharat's apprentice and the person closest to him. Bharat found Ur alone during the Great War, when Ur had no family or name. He took Ur in, gave him his name. They later settled near Hysheera. Although they are officially master and apprentice, their close bond also resembles that of a father and son.[2] Bharat cares deeply for Ur and repeatedly places himself in danger to protect him. During the Level 2 Regilith's attack on Hysheera, Bharat shields Ur and continues fighting despite suffering serious injuries. He also refuses to force Ur to remain a Slaylith when Ur announces that he wants to become a baker, instead respecting Ur's right to choose his own future.[3] Despite serving as Ur's master, Bharat is insecure about his ability to properly teach him. Ur possesses strength and destructive power far beyond Bharat's understanding, causing Bharat to question how he is supposed to train him. Because he does not understand the source of Ur's abilities, many of the exercises he assigns are improvised and are not directly related to combat. Bharat hides these doubts and allows Ur to believe that everything is part of a carefully planned training method.[4] Bharat is also cautious about Ur's lack of control. After seeing Ur release an attack resembling Regilith cannon fire, he prevents him from freely using a real magical flute and has him practice with a training flute instead. Bharat fears that an accidental discharge could destroy Hysheera or harm innocent people.[5] During the mission in Tawat, he similarly refuses to let Ur scatter the Regilith's bombardment because the resulting destruction could damage the town.[6] Although Bharat frequently worries that he is deceiving Ur, his guidance has genuinely influenced him. Bharat's decision to protect Ur during the Great War inspired Ur's desire to become strong enough to protect other people.[7]
Residents of Hysheera
Bharat has a friendly relationship with the residents of Hysheera, who respect him for defending their village from Regiliths. After Bharat defeats a Regilith by himself, the villagers praise and thank him for making the surrounding region safer. Bharat remains humble and states that he was only fulfilling his duty as a Slaylith.[8] The residents trust Bharat enough to invite him and Ur to participate in their traditional boulder-splitting contest.
Lord of Napruk
Bharat meets the Lord of Napruk after being summoned to Napruk for an assignment. Their relationship initially becomes tense because the lord expects Bharat to defeat the Regilith occupying Tawat without damaging any of the town's buildings.[9] The Lord of Napruk is initially skeptical of Bharat's reputation and accompanies him to observe his abilities personally. Bharat nevertheless cooperates with him and treats the protection of Tawat as his responsibility after accepting the mission.[10]
