Slayliths are heroes who have the responsibility of eliminating Regiliths.[1] [2]
Overview
Slayliths are trained combatants who specialize in fighting Regiliths. Because Regiliths vary greatly in size, weaponry and strength, a Slaylith must determine the enemy's threat level and develop an appropriate strategy before engaging it. Some Slayliths are capable of defeating weaker Regiliths alone. Bharat, for example, destroyed a Regilith near Hysheera without assistance. However, Regiliths classified as Level 2 or higher are normally dangerous enough to require multiple Slayliths working together.[3] A slaylith's responsibilities are not limited to destroying an enemy. They are also expected to protect civilians and prevent unnecessary damage to nearby settlements. During the mission in Tawat, Bharat was ordered to defeat the occupying Regilith while leaving the town's buildings intact so that its residents could safely return home.
History
Slayliths began operating after Regiliths continued to wander the land following the Great War. Although the weapons had originally been created and operated by the demon forces, they eventually went berserk and remained active after the demons retreated. Slayliths subsequently became responsible for eliminating the surviving machines and protecting the population from their attacks.
Bharat became a Slaylith shortly after the end of the Great War. After settling in Hysheera with Ur, he earned the respect of the villagers by accepting work and defending the surrounding region from Regiliths.
Duties
The primary duty of a Slaylith is to locate and destroy Regiliths before they can kill civilians or destroy settlements. Slayliths may also live in a region and regularly protect its inhabitants. Bharat lives near Hysheera and accepts assignments involving Regiliths that threaten the village and the surrounding desert.
Assignments
Slayliths can be hired by lordships that require assistance. After Bharat helped defeat the Level 2 Regilith near Hysheera, the Lord of Napruk requested that he travel to Napruk and accept another assignment. Assignments may include specific conditions. Bharat's mission in Tawat required him to destroy the Regilith without damaging the town's buildings. The Lord of Napruk accompanied him so that he could observe the battle and intervene if Bharat's actions placed the town at risk. A Slaylith may decline a job after hearing its conditions. However, accepting an assignment and later cancelling it may result in a cancellation fee, as it was revealed in Chapter 2.
Abilities and equipment
Slayliths do not appear to possess a single shared ability or fighting style. Their powers and equipment may depend on their training, family or personal background.
Bharat comes from a clan capable of controlling air through magic known as the Wind Clan. He fights using a magical flute and magical cloth inherited from his family, allowing him to create wind attacks, defensive barriers and air currents that redirect enemy cannon fire.
